MANILA FASHION FESTIVAL: F/W 2016

I was invited by Ms. Lystra Aranal (Clozette INSIDER Editor), together with my StyleDuet partner Jean Dalida, to attend the first day of Manila Fashion Festival: Fall | Winter 2016. It was such a privilege for me to witness astounding Filipino designers again in their new collection for this season. Truly, Filipinos are blessed with such talent and artistry!

A catalyst for the revolution in Philippine fashion, Manila Fashion Festival returns with a stimulus of change for the thriving industry through a four-day affair pushing the Filipino vision further this April 2016. Through past seasons, one-stop creative powerhouse Art Personas has strived to provide establish and rising Filipino designers a platform to succeed in their premise while supporting the industry's call for domestic cultivation and international expansion. For Manila Fashion Festival's fourth run, the Fall|Winter 2016 season expands upon this intent and will move to a new venue catering its new partnership with  EDSA Shangri-La Hotel.

Zeal Cosmetics and AT Control promoters of beauty and wellness partnered with Manila Fashion Festival alongside the Swiss watchmaking brand, Seven Friday as this seasons co-presenters expanding this innovative, revolutionary and successful event that intends to bridge the gap between international and local brands, designers and consumers.

Pushing the market, artistry, and integrity of fashion holistically, Manila Fashion  Festival added new elements which include a creative line-up of events with the idea to create possibilities. There will be two sets of graduation shows this season with the participation of School of Fashion and the Arts (SoFA) and iAcademy.

In reforming the traditional runway experience, Manila Fashion Festival collaborated with ZALORA Philippines, Asia's leading online fashion destination to bring fashion to a new reach. From the runway to one's wardrobe, the collections of brands and designers will be available for pre-order as they come down the catwalk.

The innovating trend in ready-to-wear, the traditional runway experience continues to evolve. With the aim of building a stronger, thriving fashion industry, by using e-commerce as  a platform, hence, Manila Fashion Festival partnered with the two of the top online fashion destination in the Philippines. Continuously partnering with AVA.ph, a premier site of the Philippines, where some designers will be selling selected pieces for this season in April.

A set of locally produced brands namely Azucar, Medida and Teofila will present pieces and exhibit ready-to-wear flair on the platform along with ARIN, the in-house fashion label of Art Personas presenting its fourth collection.

With the industry moving towards its best, Manila Fashion Festival has also motioned towards giving back. This year, the event will support the Better Future Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to create a better future for the less fortunate. The runway will not only project the image of today's fashion scene, but it will also become a podium to mediate awareness of humanity's contemporary struggles. Below are the sneak peak of the complete list of designers for this season's show:
